//Submissions
The Community Window is a glass enclosed exhibition space in the public area of the Rotary Centre for the Arts. Gallery members, local artists, students and youth are encouraged to submit work for this space, although the space is not exclusively reserved for them.
The Community Window is in a public area where the Alternator cannot control audience access or actively monitor audience response. Children are frequently present.
In selecting work for this space, we will consider the following criteria:
• The overall quality of the work
• The artist's statement about the work
• The suitability of the work for the dimensions and nature of the space (i.e. scale, materials, visibility etc.)
• The appropriateness of the work in a public area
• The contribution to or engagement with community issues
Submissions for exhibitions in the Community Window are accepted on an ongoing basis. Exhibitions are rotated frequently.
Curatorial decisions regarding the Community Window can be reviewed by the Alternator's Board of Directors on written request. Upon review, the decision of the Board is final.
