The residency project Burn Out set as a goal the exploration of the theme of loss and recovery, in response to the need for healing following the previous year's devastating Okanagan Mountain Park Fire. The artists' understanding that loss and recovery is a shared emotional experience led them to approach the theme obliquely, both in subtle ways and through a broader scope, demonstrating a level of creativity and thoughtfulness that allowed genuine connections with the community.
